The measure of a garden in pink

About the work

The grace of an illuminated page is found in the ordered structure of this ketubah, where a wide floral frieze encloses the text within an arched opening. On the ivory ground, brown branches, deep green leaves and corollas in various shades of pink unfold. Small golden accents interrupt the continuity of the foliage with discreet points of light. At the sides, the vegetation is dense and rhythmic; at the top and along the base it becomes airier, letting the design breathe. The calligraphic block, relatively compact, accentuates the verticality of the whole. The effect is composed and welcoming, with a calibrated balance between ornamental abundance, symmetry and the silence of the central space.
