Hand-painted ketubot, designed together with the couple.
Garlands, cartouches and interlacings of light
About the work
The rhythm of this ketubah arises from the interlacing of garlands of small leaves and golden ribbons that trace a medallion with a wavy contour. The inscriptions on the cartouches and the wider ring of inner writing make the word an integral part of the ornament. All around, sage-green, teal and darker-toned branches alternate with pale flowers with warm centres, composing a broad, expansive vegetation. The central text remains compact, while below, a small motif of hands adds a further figurative detail. The chromatic restraint of the foliage and the luminosity of the golden marks create a ceremonial presence of great measure, built through crossings, returns and delicate correspondences.
